Guten Tag, Buongiorno, Goedendag, Sabáh al-chajr and Dzien dobry
The annual summer programme series of the International Education Centre of the Pécs University; the Hungarian Language and Culture Summer University awaits foreign university students for the 13th time this year to get acquainted with Hungarian culture and while learning the Hungarian language they also get the chance to enjoy the unique cultural and entertainment facilities in and around the city. During their cultural programmes, this time 31 students (Dutch, Polish, Egyiptian, German, Italian, English) visited the Kodály Centre and the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter where they got to visit several separate venues and exhibitions accompanied by a guide in about 4 hours.
It has always been important for the management of the quarter to keep and safeguard a strong relationship with the Pécs universities and students who spend more or less time studying in the city. The cultural programme organisers dealing with these students regularly visit the new cultural complexes of Pécs; we have already welcomed foreign medical, prep. school and Erasmus students.

The group studying Hungarian language and culture was first guided through the Kodály Centre. A brave young candidate – even though with shaking legs – presented his mates with a short song from the stage of the concert hall. And he can always say proudly from now on that he has stood and sang on the stage of this beautiful new venue where such world famous performers have presented their shows like Maxim Vengerov, Avishai Cohen, the Mike Stern Band, Trilok Gurtu or the Harlem Gospel.
Following this, they walked around the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter and visited the Gyugyi Collection too. The colleague of the Pécs University as part of the programme organised a quiz game for the students; they had to give the answers to the question by the information given by the guide. Everyone was paying attention all through the programme and was making notes sedulously.

Following a short break at one of the catering venues of the quarter, the students paid a visit to the Zsolnay Mausoleum. Concluding from the smiling faces despite the immense heat and the long programme everyone must have had a great time.
