Pink Zsolnay Exhibition in the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter
„Zsolnays had several faces” says Barnabás Winkler owner of the collection of around 600 pink Zsolnay porcelain objects. As he explains these were produced in the first periods after the factory was opened so they have a really important role in the Zsolnay life’s work. The room where the collection found its new place aims at recapturing the atmosphere of the old pink warehouse it shows that the pinks were produced in masses and the exhibition follows their development through. First they were pure countryside items of pottery, later the items of industrial production while finally becoming the everyday household pieces of the bourgeois.
“The greatest joy came when we came across the pink fireplace” – says the collector. It is the newest and most decorative item of the exhibition.
According to the plan this will be such a temporary exhibition of the pinks as the Gyugyi collection.
